Dr. NC Dhole, Principal, introduced JIMS, emphasizing its commitment to excellence in medical education and holistic health.
Dr. Pravas Pal, Medical Superintendent, shared valuable insights on the integrative approach at JIMS Hospital, combining traditional homeopathy with modern medical practices.
Dr. Santosh Kumar highlighted the structure and importance of the PG CBDC program, preparing students for a successful career in homeopathic medicine.
Dr. Vishal Deshpande provided a detailed overview of the academic rigor and practical exposure in the PG CBDC program.
TS Krishna Swami ji inspired the attendees by stressing the vital role of ethics, morals, and the compassionate art of healing in the medical profession.

The program also featured engaging interactive sessions, where our new PG students introduced themselves and shared their aspirations. The event was filled with warmth and enthusiasm as students connected with faculty members and senior professionals.

The session concluded with Mangalasasanam by TS Krishna Swamiji, followed by a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Akash Deep Sir, who summarized the key takeaways from the ceremony.

International Conference on Oncology: Converging on Cancer Research

On December 17, 2024, Jeeyar Integrative Medical Services & BBC Cure, USA hosted a one-day International Conference on Oncology, themed “Converging on Cancer Research.” The conference, attended by 250 participants, aimed to share the latest advancements in cancer treatment and research.

The event commenced with an inaugural ceremony, which included the lighting of the lamp by dignitaries and a prayer song by 1st-year BHMS students. Krishnaswamiji emphasized the importance of awareness about cervical cancer and initiatives undertaken by Vikas Tarangini. Dr. Pravas Kumar Pal, Medical Superintendent of JIMS Hospital, presented the hospital’s integrative treatment approach, its history, and the contributions of Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji, Late Dr. Pavaluri Krishna Chaudary, and Dr. Jupally Rameshwar Rao. Srimati Madhavi Ravindra also spoke about Vikas Tarangini’s initiatives for cervical cancer screening.

The conference featured five insightful scientific sessions:

1. Dr. Prashanthi Karyala spoke about exploring cancer mechanisms and therapeutic targets through systems biology approaches, highlighting the importance of understanding disease pathways and potential treatment targets, particularly focusing on breast cancer metastasis.

2. Dr. Shahid Umar discussed the connection between the gut microbiome and cancer, emphasizing the role of microbiome assays and dietary factors in preventing colonic cancer.

3. Dr. Rao Papineni presented on combination therapies in cancer treatment, emphasizing the use of radioluminescence, nanoparticles, and photodynamic therapy for more effective cancer treatments.

4. Dr. Shashi Kiran addressed alternate therapies for HPV-induced cancers, particularly cervical cancer, and explored the molecular mechanisms of HPV-induced carcinogenesis.

5. Dr. Ekta Tripati unveiled the role of CRISPR in regulating DUBs in breast cancer, explaining how gene editing could revolutionize cancer treatment.

The conference successfully brought together medical professionals, researchers, and specialists to explore cutting-edge research and therapies in oncology, contributing to the ongoing fight against cancer.

On 26th November 2024, JIMS Homoeopahic Medical College & Hospital organized an insightful webinar for BHMS interns, featuring alumni from diverse career paths. Moderated by Dr. P Harishma, the session covered a range of opportunities available after BHMS, including clinical practice, government service, insurance, private practice, and further studies abroad.

The panelists shared valuable experiences, offering advice on navigating career choices, the challenges faced after BHMS, and the importance of continued learning and growth. They also highlighted the impact of JIMS’ academic and clinical exposure in shaping their careers.

Key takeaways:
-Dr. Sugnan (PG in NIH), although joining later due to prior commitments, shared how his JIMS education helped him secure a good rank for PG admission at NIH. He emphasized the quality of training at JIMS and the confidence it gave him to progress faster than his peers.
– Dr. Rishitha discussed opportunities in the US and the importance of letters of recommendation.
– Dr. Deepshika shared her journey from HomeoCare International to the insurance industry.
– Dr. Afsana emphasized the value of practical experience in government service.
– Dr. Ankitha spoke about her PG experience at NIH and how JIMS helped her advance in her field.
– Dr. Srilakshmi talked about running her own private clinic and the licenses needed.
– Dr. Harishma shared her journey from House Physician to PG in JIMS, and her future plans.

The session ended with a Q&A, the feedback from the interns was overwhelmingly positive.

Emerging infectious diseases (EIDs) are the diseases that have appeared new or those which show increased occurrence within the last few decades in a particular geographical area. They include the following categories

• Emerging diagnosis of infectious diseases: old diseases that are newly classified as infectious diseases because of the discovery of a responsible infectious agent
eg Helicobacter pylori associated diseases, Borrelliosis, Hepatitis C, Hepatitis E, Cervical carcinoma

• Newly emerging infectious diseases:
egHIV/AIDS, New variants of Creutzfeld-Jakob Disease,Noro virus, Japanese encephalitis,Avian Influenza,H5N1, SARS, Haemorrhagic fevers -Ebola, Hanta, Lassa, Marburg, Cholera non01types (139),Human ehrlichiosis, Monkey pox,(Kongo),Nipah encephalitis, West Nile Fever

World AIDS Day 2024: 'Take the Rights Path: My Health, My Right!

In support of the theme for World AIDS Day 2024, JIMS Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, through its Department of Community Medicine and NSS Unit, organized an impactful awareness programme to educate and raise awareness about HIV/AIDS.

Event Highlights:
Awareness Rally (4th December)
The rally, held at Kongarkalan village, saw active participation from various community members, including Corporator Mr. G. Mahendar, Headmaster Mr. G. Swamy, school teachers, students, and the general public. The initiative aimed to promote a healthier, more informed community, spreading awareness about HIV/AIDS and the importance of early detection and prevention.

Poster Presentation (5th December)
Held at JIMS HMC, the poster presentation highlighted key information on HIV/AIDS – from symptoms and modes of transmission to preventive measures and associated opportunistic infections. The posters served as an educational tool to raise awareness among students and staff.

Together, we can spread knowledge and contribute to building a stronger, healthier community!
