As a part of their academic curriculum, the students of IV BHMS (Senior Batch) from JIMS Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, accompanied by the faculty of the Department of Community Medicine, visited the Government General TB & Chest Hospital, Erragadda on 26th and 27th June 2025.
The objective of the visit was to provide students with exposure to the functioning of a specialized infectious disease hospital and to educate them on the prevention, management, and control of communicable diseases, with a special focus on Tuberculosis (TB).
During the visit, students gained comprehensive insights into: 🔹 Clinical symptomatology of TB 🔹 Diagnostic procedures and investigations 🔹 Treatment protocols including DOTS and multi-drug regimens 🔹 Implementation and field-level functioning of the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP)
This enriching experience significantly enhanced the students’ understanding of public health systems, infectious disease control, and national health programs—bridging academic learning with real-world clinical practices.
As part of their academic curriculum, the senior batch students of IV BHMS from JIMS Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, accompanied by faculty members of the Department of Community Medicine, undertook an educational visit to the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) at Amberpet on 26th and 27th June 2025.
This field visit aimed to provide students with firsthand exposure to modern sewage treatment processes and the operational infrastructure involved in environmental sanitation. It served as an essential part of their learning about public health practices, waste management, and the vital role of sewage treatment in disease prevention and environmental protection.
Through guided tours and on-site explanations by experts, students observed how wastewater is scientifically processed, treated, and safely released—highlighting the link between sanitation infrastructure and community health.
The visit not only reinforced theoretical knowledge but also offered practical insights, enhancing student comprehension of environmental health, pollution control, and sustainable practices. Such integrated learning approaches bridge classroom teaching with real-world applications, equipping future healthcare professionals with the awareness and responsibility needed for holistic community health care.
On the auspicious occasion of International Day of Yoga on June 21st, 2025, it was an honor to contribute to the mission of our respected Prime Minister, Sri Narendra Modi Ji, in promoting yoga as a natural and holistic way of living.
We successfully organized the “YOGA SANGAM” at the Statue of Equality, under the auspices of JIMS Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital. The event brought together individuals from all walks of life to experience the profound physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of yoga.

II BHMS – CBDC Batch | JIMS HMC, Hyderabad Venue: Department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology (FMT) and Mortuary, Gandhi Medical College, Secunderabad Date: 18th to 21st June 2025
A total of 138 students from the II BHMS CBDC batch of JIMS Homoeopathic Medical College, Hyderabad, undertook an educational visit to the Department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology (FMT) and the Mortuary at Gandhi Medical College, Secunderabad, from 18th to 21st June 2025.
The visit was a highly enriching experience for the students. They had the rare opportunity to witness live postmortem examinations and gain firsthand insight into the medico-legal aspects of autopsy procedures. The students observed the complete process, including external and internal examination of the body, legal formalities involved in conducting autopsies, preservation of viscera for toxicological analysis, and protocols for disposal of the deceased.
This practical exposure significantly enhanced their understanding of forensic medicine, complementing their academic learning with real-world applications.

On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day 2025, JIMS Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, NSS Unit and Department of Community Medicine in collaboration with Jeevan Raksha Blood Center, Shamshabad conducted a Blood Donation Drive in JIMS Hospital on 16th June 2025.
NSS volunteers took pledge along with the faculty members to contribute to the noble cause of saving lives. The event fostered a sense of community and social responsibility among the participants highlighting the value of voluntary blood donation.
70 donors generously contributed blood, helping to make a significant impact on the lives of patients in need.

World Blood Donor Day 2025: A Lifesaving Act of Kindness at JIMS
On the occasion of World Environment Day 2025, JIMS Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Department of Community Medicine, conducted a series of impactful events to raise awareness on the theme “Ending Plastic Pollution.” These activities were aimed at educating the youth in contributing towards a cleaner and more sustainable environment.
A Seminar was conducted on 4th June 2025 for IV BHMS students that highlighted the grave issue of plastic pollution, especially its impact on living organisms on land as well as in water and the innovative and practical solutions to mitigate plastic pollution. To encourage interactive learning, a quick question-answer session was conducted post-seminar, engaging the students and reinforcing the key takeaways.
In alignment with the environmental cause, a tree plantation drive was organized in the college campus by NSS student volunteers on 5th June 2025. This green initiative symbolized the institution’s commitment to environmental conservation.
Additionally, a unique and symbolic activity was held where faculty members and students came together to contribute to the poster by adding their fingerprints, creating a beautiful tree design that symbolised the collective commitment towards protecting our planet. The poster will serve constant reminder of the importance of environmental stewardship and the power of collective action.
