On the occasion of World Health Day 2024, NSS unit & Department of Community Medicine observed the theme for WHD 24 ‘My health, my right’ by organizing a Blood donation camp in collaboration with Community Health Center- Blood Bank, Shadnagar on 5th April 2024.

JIMS Homoeopathic Medical College, Department of Psychiatry, organized Bipolar Awareness Day event. Our Department of Psychiatry took part in the commemoration of this day by organizing a series of events and activities to bring attention to this important mental health issue. We are happy to inform you that the events were well received and had a meaningful impact on the students.
Firstly, there was a welcome speech by DR. SUDIPTHI SINGH followed by lightening of lamp and introduction of the guest speakers. There was a message for world bipolar day from DR. PRASAD RAO chairman of mental health awareness sub-committee of Telangana state branch, Followed by DR. RAMAKRISHNA SIR`s address on the meaning and the importance of mental illness. Following was a skit performance by the UG students displaying progress of development of bipolar personality affective disorder. Furthermore, there was bipolar introduction by PG’S of Department of Psychiatry which was followed by –
Speech by DR.AMRITHA regarding –how to deal with emergencies in bipolar personality affective disorder.
Speech by DR. DILEEP CHARAVARTHY in regard to pharmacotherapy and procedures.
DR.P. RAVINDRA RAO (HOD of Department of Psychiatry) explained in detail regarding the homeopathic aspects concerning mental illness.
Finally the event was concluded by vote of thanks by DR.AJEYA , followed by National anthem.

A field visit to Sewage Treatment Plant, Amberpet was organized on 22nd February 2024. The visit was to introduce the students to the modern sewage treatment methods.
91 students visited the plant along with the department faculty members.
The students were introduced to the staff working at Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB). The plant in-charge explained the students in detail about the process involved in the treatment of sewage. Thereafter the students were taken around to see the plant. The primary and secondary process of sewage treatment and the disposal of effluent were shown to the students.
Students were made aware about the need for appropriate disposal and treatment of sewage for prevention of pollution and associated health hazards.

Visit to Medicinal garden Mulikavanam, Government Herbal garden, Hyderabad by JIMS Homoeopathic medical college and Hospital ,Department of Homoeopathic pharmacy had visited on 27th January ,2024 with 75 Undergraduate students (Ist BHMS 2022-2023 batch), 10 Post graduate students,2 faculty members (Dr.Raghuramchandra, Dr.D.Dharani ).Following instructors explained about medicinal plants – Ms. Srivani Gayatri, Consultant Botanist, TSMPB, Dr. Rahel Ratna kumara, Consultant Botanist, TSMPB, Mrs. Sunitha, FRO, TSMPB.Acquired knowledge about identification and cultivation of medicinal plants,prevention of plant disease and treatment of common diseases in plants,method of preparation of write up sign boards for plants.
Ongoing upgrading process in collaboration with National project by Central government.More than 200 species of medicinal plants was identified. Telangana state medicinal plants board is in function since 20 years.
As a part of ADVAITA 2024 Sports meet was conducted in JIMS Homoeopathic Medical College campus from 4thJanuary2024 to 11thJanuary2024. Both outdoor and indoor games were conducted, outdoor includes cricket, Volleyball, Basketball, Tennis, Throw ball, Badminton, Tennikoit, Athletics, Kho Kho and indoor games includes Carom, Chess, Arm Wrestling, Table Tennis. Sports event started with an inauguration ceremony with lamp lightning, team’s introduction and jersey distribution, teams are Red Bulls, Black Panthers, Blue Dragons and Grey Cheetahs.
All UG, Intern, PG students were participated in the event and event went as per schedule given by the sports committee, Fruits and Energy drinks were provided regularly and including evening refreshments after play. In every game winners and runners been awarded with Medals and Trophies. Teaching staff were conducted all the events very actively and patiently and brought referees for games such as volleyball, cricket and basketball from outside.
In total 15 games was conducted including both indoor and outdoor to both boys and girls on around 220 students was participated in sports and rest of all cheering their respective teams. Badminton was conducted in Swarna Bharat Indoor stadium, Cricket and Kho Kho was conducted outside at REET cricket stadium and Kho Kho court respectively, rest of the games was conducted in the college premises.
Medical care facility was provided to students during the event in case of injuries. All the Sports Equipment and sports material was provided to the students during the play. Faculty and students were actively participated.
