The Faculty of the Department of Homoeopathic Pharmacy, JIMS, organized an enriching industrial visit to Medisynth Chemicals Pvt. Ltd. The visit, conducted with prior approval from both JIMS and Medisynth, aimed to provide hands-on training and a comprehensive understanding of the operations involved in the manufacture of homoeopathic medicines. The visit offered valuable insights into the practical aspects of pharmaceutical manufacturing and quality control.

1. Opening Address by Dr. Prakash Joshi:
Dr. Prakash Joshi, Vice President (Tech.), welcomed the participants and provided an overview of the latest issues in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), pharmacopoeial standards, and quality control in the manufacturing industry of homoeopathic medicine.

2. Insights into Marketing Strategy:
Mr. Srikant, Plant Head, and Mr. Rajesh Rai elaborated on the marketing strategies employed by Medisynth Chemicals. Their discussion provided an understanding of how the company positions its products in the competitive market.

3. Warehouse and Inventory Management:
Mr. Swapnil explained the intricacies of warehouse management, including Goods Receipt Notes (GRN), inventory control, and store management. His insights highlighted the importance of efficient logistics in pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Dr. Deepak Sawant covered the large-scale production of Q preparations and dilutions, including the processes involved in back potencies. He also detailed the instrumentation used in these processes.

Anthropometric Measurements: Detailed assessments were conducted to monitor the students’ growth and development.

Clinical Complaints: Students’ health concerns and symptoms were documented to identify any immediate or ongoing health issues.

Overall Well-Being: A holistic approach was taken to evaluate the general health and well-being of each student.

Today, we had an insightful bedside clinical meeting with Dr. Manisha Thakur, MBBS, MD Pediatrics at JIMS Hospital’s Female Pediatric Ward. Alongside our dedicated PG Pediatrics students, Dr Suchi and Dr Rukhiya, focused on the regular checkups of our infants, evaluating their weight, physical health, and overall well-being.

We carefully examined each child’s physical generals and assessed whether breastfeeding meets their needs. It’s always inspiring to see such thorough and compassionate care in action.
