One-Day Intensive Workshop on “Why and How of Achieving Good Results in Homeopathy – The ICR Way of Practice”

JIMS Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital organized a one-day intensive workshop on “Why and How of Achieving Good Results in Homeopathy – The ICR Way of Practice” on 04th November 2025. The session was conducted by Dr. Manoj K. Patel, MD (Hom), Former Head of the Department of Psychiatry at Dr. M. L. Dhawale Memorial Homeopathic Institute, Palghar. The workshop was specifically designed for interns and postgraduate scholars of the Psychiatry Department, offering deep insights into effective homeopathic clinical practice.

The workshop began with an introduction to the evolving understanding of health and disease, with special emphasis on the biopsychosocial model, which highlights holistic patient assessment. Dr. Patel explained the crucial difference between case-taking and case-receiving, stressing the importance of a patient-centered approach in homeopathic practice. He also addressed the rising importance of mental health and the challenges the healthcare system is expected to face in the coming years.

A significant portion of the workshop focused on the relevance of Hahnemann’s principles from the Organon of Medicine. Dr. Patel elaborated on the interview skills, perceptive abilities, and observational techniques required to become an unprejudiced observer. He emphasized the higher purpose and responsibility of a homeopathic physician in guiding patients through their healing journey with sensitivity and precision.

In the second segment, Dr. Patel introduced the TFCAR model, demonstrating its practical application in real clinical scenarios. Participants observed video clips of case interviews, followed by a step-by-step guided analysis. These interactive discussions, complemented by live demonstrations, significantly enhanced the participants’ understanding and application of theoretical concepts.

The third segment focused on acute psychiatric conditions, with Dr. Patel presenting video cases that showcased rapid and effective results achieved through homeopathic intervention. He highlighted the importance of refined observation, accurate analysis, and precise remedy selection in managing acute conditions successfully.

The participants found the workshop highly enriching and expressed great satisfaction with the clarity, depth, and practical orientation of the sessions. Many shared that the workshop boosted their confidence in handling both acute and chronic psychiatric cases through homeopathy. They also expressed a strong desire for more such training sessions with the speaker.

Principal Dr. N. C. Dhole acknowledged the tremendous hard work and dedication shown by the speaker and emphasized the rigorous training methods practiced at ICR, which help shape competent homeopathic physicians. Moderator Dr. Mohammed Irfan also shared his personal experiences of learning under Dr. Patel and highlighted the impact of such training on clinical excellence.
