In support of the 16th Indian Organ Donation Day and the year-long public awareness campaign promoting organ donation, the Departments of Community Medicine and Anatomy, JIMS Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, organized an Organ Donation Awareness Programme for students and faculty members on 14th August 2026.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Ms. Vaishnavi, III BHMS, followed by a prayer. Dr. N. C. Dhole, Principal, delivered an inspiring address highlighting the vital role of organ donation in saving lives and bridging the gap between organ demand and availability.
Dr. Poonam N. Sutar, Professor & HOD, Department of Community Medicine, highlighted the objectives of the Jug Jug Jiyo Abhiyaan and created awareness about the NOTTO portal. An engaging and interactive quiz on organ donation followed, with enthusiastic participation from both students and faculty members.
The programme concluded with a pledge-taking ceremony, where students and faculty collectively pledged to support organ donation, spread awareness, and encourage others to contribute to this noble cause.
Students from I to III BHMS, under the guidance of Dr. Uma Rani, Professor, Department of Anatomy, prepared and displayed informative charts and models on organ donation. The exhibits were highly appreciated for their creativity, clarity, and impactful presentation.
The programme reinforced JIMS HMC’s commitment to the Jug Jug Jiyo Abhiyaan and to creating a socially responsible community that understands the life-saving importance of organ donation.
