II BHMS – CBDC Batch | JIMS HMC, Hyderabad

A total of 138 students from the II BHMS CBDC batch of JIMS Homoeopathic Medical College, Hyderabad, undertook an educational visit to the Department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology (FMT) and the Mortuary at Gandhi Medical College, Secunderabad, from 18th to 21st June 2025.
The visit was a highly enriching experience for the students. They had the rare opportunity to witness live postmortem examinations and gain firsthand insight into the medico-legal aspects of autopsy procedures. The students observed the complete process, including external and internal examination of the body, legal formalities involved in conducting autopsies, preservation of viscera for toxicological analysis, and protocols for disposal of the deceased.
This practical exposure significantly enhanced their understanding of forensic medicine, complementing their academic learning with real-world applications.
