World Breastfeeding Week 2026 | IPD Breastfeeding Awareness Programme at JIMS Hospital

As part of World Breastfeeding Week 2026, the Department of Paediatrics, JIMS Hospital organized an IPD Breastfeeding Awareness Programme and Hands-on Training Session for Nursing Staff to strengthen breastfeeding support and enhance maternal and newborn care.

The programme focused on educating mothers and attendants about effective breastfeeding practices, while empowering nursing professionals with practical skills in correct positioning and attachment, breastfeeding techniques, management of common breastfeeding challenges, and counseling support.

Dr. N.C. Dhole, Principal, JIMS Homoeopathic Medical College, highlighted the importance of timely guidance and awareness in ensuring successful breastfeeding. Dr. Shrinath Rao emphasized the role of maternal mental well-being and family support during the postpartum period.

Breastfeeding Awareness Stations were also organized for outpatients, caregivers, and UG scholars, providing practical demonstrations and promoting evidence-based breastfeeding practices.

Through these initiatives, JIMS Hospital continues its commitment towards supporting mothers, empowering healthcare professionals, and ensuring a healthier start for every newborn.
