As part of the International Women’s Day celebrations, Day 3 at JIMS Hospital focused on promoting health awareness among women, emphasizing the importance of yoga in maintaining physical and mental well-being.
The event commenced with a brief introduction by final year student Ms. Bhargavi, who highlighted how modern lifestyles, increasing stress, and lack of physical activity can adversely affect women’s health. She emphasized that incorporating regular yoga practice can significantly improve overall health and well-being.
Yoga trainer Ms. Hepshiba spoke about the benefits of yoga in enhancing physical strength, flexibility, hormonal balance, and mental relaxation, thereby contributing to improved immunity and overall wellness.
The practical session featured final year students Ms. Nikitha and Ms. Fouzia, who demonstrated various yoga asanas, Surya Namaskar, and breathing exercises for the attendees. The session received enthusiastic participation from the audience, reflecting the positive impact of the program.
The event was graciously attended by Medical Superintendent Dr. Pravas Kumar Pal, along with faculty members and staff of JIMS Hospital.
In addition, a general health check-up and screening program was conducted for women from low socio-economic backgrounds. The participants were screened and investigated for Lipid Profile, Complete Blood Count (CBC), and Random Blood Sugar, reinforcing the hospital’s commitment to community health.
The program served as a meaningful platform to encourage women to adopt yoga for holistic well-being and sustainable healthy living.
