In continuation of the celebrations of International Women’s Day, the Department of Community Medicine, JIMS Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital conducted an inspiring Awareness Programme on 10th March 2026 for the female students of Telangana Model School & Junior College.
The programme commenced with an insightful introductory address by Dr. T. Surekha (Associate Professor), who highlighted the significance of celebrating International Women’s Day and elaborated on this year’s powerful theme – “Give to Gain.” Her words set the tone for a day dedicated to awareness, empowerment, and inspiration.
The event then moved into an exciting Quiz Competition featuring four engaging rounds focused on health awareness, women’s rights, and the remarkable achievements of women across the world. Four enthusiastic teams, each comprising six participants, showcased their knowledge, confidence, and team spirit, making the competition both educational and exhilarating for everyone involved.
Adding a creative and emotional touch to the programme, Final Year BHMS students performed a thought-provoking skit that beautifully portrayed the different phases of a woman’s life—from education and career aspirations to family responsibilities, health concerns, and ageing—highlighting the social challenges women encounter at every stage. The performance deeply resonated with the audience and delivered a powerful message on resilience and empowerment.
The programme reached 170 female students from classes VI to IX, successfully spreading awareness and inspiring them to recognize their strength, potential, and role in shaping a more equal society.
The initiative served as a meaningful step toward educating, motivating, and empowering the next generation of young women.
