Educational Visit to Homoeopathic Pharmacopoeia Laboratory – Ghaziabad

On 5th August 2025, the Postgraduate scholars from the Department of Homoeopathic Pharmacy, JIMS Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, visited the Homoeopathic Pharmacopoeia Laboratory (HPL), Ghaziabad, New Delhi, as part of their academic enrichment program.

During the visit, Dr. Jithender, Analyst – Pharmacognosy Unit, conducted a comprehensive session on herbarium preparation, discussed standard drug materials, and presented a comparative analysis between market samples and Gangetic samples.

Dr. Kapil introduced the CHOAS machine, explaining its vital role in the digitalization of medicinal plants and elaborated on various initiatives led by the Pharmacopoeia Commission for Indian Medicine & Homoeopathy (PCI&H).

Dr. R.K. Pawar provided a live demonstration of sophisticated analytical instruments including UPLC, Digital Refractometer, UV Spectrometer, and HPTLC, offering students valuable practical exposure to modern analytical techniques.

Dr. S.C. Varma shared insightful knowledge on standardization and quality control processes, highlighting their crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficacy of homoeopathic medicines.

Dr. Ramesh delivered an engaging session on microbiology and its applications in homoeopathy, underlining its growing importance in the preparation and evaluation of homoeopathic formulations.

The PG scholars were accompanied by Dr. Raghuramchandra, Professor, Department of Homoeopathic Pharmacy, whose presence and guidance enriched the learning experience.

This visit proved to be a valuable opportunity for the scholars to deepen their understanding of pharmacological standards, regulatory processes, and cutting-edge instrumentation, thereby strengthening their academic and practical foundation in homoeopathic pharmacy.
