8th Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyaan & Swasth Naari Swashakth Parivar by JIMSHMCH

The 8th Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyaan and Swasth Naari Swashakth Parivar was successfully conducted by JIMS Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital at Mamidipally/Ranganayakula Colony (Outreach Village), in collaboration with the NSS Unit of JIMS, Department of Community Medicine, Department of OBGY, and the Anganwadi Centres of Mamidipally Village.

The program aimed to spread awareness and empower the community on key aspects of health and nutrition. Final Year BHMS NSS volunteers delivered informative sessions on anemia, Poshan Abhiyan, menstrual hygiene, personal hygiene, and breast cancer self-examination. To further engage the participants, the volunteers showcased posters, models, and an impactful skit (Nukkad Natak) on “Tuberculosis: Myths and Facts.”

Adding great value to the initiative, Dr. Kalpavalli & Dr. Roja emphasized the importance of nutrition for growing girls, children, and mothers, highlighting the central role of women in sustaining family health. The program benefitted 24 children, 10 adolescent girls, and 15 women, and concluded with the distribution of fruits to symbolize the importance of good nutrition.

Special thanks to the Anganwadi Workers, Mrs. Swaroopa and Mrs. Kalpana, for their support and active participation.

This community outreach program by JIMSHMCH made a meaningful impact by raising awareness, correcting myths, and inspiring women and adolescent girls to prioritize their health and well-being.
