Awareness Programme on PCOS Month – September 2025

As part of PCOS Awareness Month 2025, the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, in collaboration with the NSS Unit of JIMS Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, organized a PCOS Awareness Programme on 15th September 2025 at the Upper Primary School, Peddha Golconda village, Shamshabad Mandal, Ranga Reddy District.

The programme, coordinated by Dr. Maanasa Inavolu, Assistant Professor, OBGY, aimed to educate young students and staff about Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)—a condition affecting millions of women worldwide. Around 22 participants, including Class VI & VII students and staff, benefitted from the session.

Dr. Maanasa Inavolu highlighted common symptoms of PCOS such as irregular periods, weight gain, acne, and fertility challenges, stressing the importance of early diagnosis. Dr. Vijayshree, PG Scholar, further emphasized adopting a healthy lifestyle, focusing on balanced diets, physical activity, and mental well-being as key strategies for managing PCOS. Students actively engaged in the discussion, asking questions and gaining clarity about the condition.

The Principal and staff expressed their gratitude for this impactful initiative, noting that the programme enlightened students and empowered young girls with vital knowledge to safeguard their health and well-being.

This community outreach marks another step forward in spreading awareness and encouraging holistic approaches to women’s health.
