The Department of Anatomy, JIMS Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital (JIMSHMCH) organized an awareness program on 9th September 2025 in collaboration with the Telangana Eye, Organ & Body Donation Promoters Organization (TEOBDA).
The program aimed to create awareness among students, faculty, and the community about the life-saving and life-transforming impact of donation—from blood and eyes to vital organs, skin, hair, and body donation for medical education.
The distinguished speakers highlighted the vital role of donation in saving lives and advancing medical education & research:
Sri. Ganji Eswara Lingam, Founder of TEOBDA, emphasized the importance of organ & body donation in the current scenario and its significance for medical colleges.
Sri. T. Sravan Kumar, Founder President, TEOBDA, shared insights on the impact of eye donation in society.
Sri. M. Nageswar Rao, Founder Vice President, TEOBDA, discussed challenges in organ donation processes and its contribution to medical education & research.
Smt. Bhandaru Vijaya, Founder Vice President, TEOBDA, stressed the social importance of organ donation.
Dr. Bhanu Chander, Senior Transplant Coordinator, TEOBDA, explained the technical aspects of transporting organs, preserving them, and preparing a green corridor.
The event was graced by Dr. N.C. Dhole, Principal JIMSHMCH, Dr. Santosh Kumar, Vice Principal, senior faculty members Dr. Goutham Ash, Dr. D. Gopal, along with staff and students.
The program was successfully conducted by Dr. Umarani, Professor, Dept. of Anatomy, with the support of Dr. Usha Bhargavi, Dr. Raghuramaiah Professor & HOD Anatomy, Dr. Mounika, and the entire Anatomy department team.
This initiative reinforced the noble cause of donation and its invaluable role in healthcare and education.
