On the occasion of World Environment Day 2025, JIMS Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Department of Community Medicine, conducted a series of impactful events to raise awareness on the theme “Ending Plastic Pollution.” These activities were aimed at educating the youth in contributing towards a cleaner and more sustainable environment.
A Seminar was conducted on 4th June 2025 for IV BHMS students that highlighted the grave issue of plastic pollution, especially its impact on living organisms on land as well as in water and the innovative and practical solutions to mitigate plastic pollution. To encourage interactive learning, a quick question-answer session was conducted post-seminar, engaging the students and reinforcing the key takeaways.
In alignment with the environmental cause, a tree plantation drive was organized in the college campus by NSS student volunteers on 5th June 2025. This green initiative symbolized the institution’s commitment to environmental conservation.
Additionally, a unique and symbolic activity was held where faculty members and students came together to contribute to the poster by adding their fingerprints, creating a beautiful tree design that symbolised the collective commitment towards protecting our planet. The poster will serve constant reminder of the importance of environmental stewardship and the power of collective action.
